Route description
Bamacher car park - follow the signs for "Ennser Hütte, Almkogel" – cross the forest road - follow red-white markings through the mixed forest - uphill trail along the channel of a spring - cross the forest road – hunter's lodge – trail across to the Gschwendtalm and Gamsstein - follow the path up through the mountain forest - Ennser Hütte - uphill path to the ridge between the Brunnbacheck and Almkogel – keep south along the ridge - summit cross on the Almkogel - northeast along the ridge - across the Brunnbacheck - Burgspitz (1429m) - return along the ridge - trail to the Ennser Hütte.
Time-on-trail: Bamacher - Almkogel 2 ½ hrs., Almkogel - Burgspitz ¾ hr., Burgspitz - Ennserhütte - starting point 1 ½ hrs.. The walk from Großraming train station to the Bamacher will take you about 1 hr. Elevation gain from Oberpleißa: 759 m

Observation tips
Nowhere else provides you with better impressions of the international nature sanctuary that includes the Hintergebirge and Sengsengebirge ranges, with gentle meadows, extended mountain ridges, many peaks, rugged canyons, deep trenches, and a variety of forests.
