The Hengstpasshütte has been newly built in Kalkalpen National Park in keeping with the design of older huts from the region. It is available to hikers and national park visitors as an information center. The Hengstpass is one of the most popular hiking destinations in Kalkalpen National Park.
Arrival from Windischgarsten via Rosenau on the Hengstpass Landesstraße (L550) to the pass summit or from Ennstal in the east via Altenmarkt bei St. Gallen and Unterlaussa to the pass summit.

Self-Catering Hut
The Hengstpasshütte in the national park is located right on the pass summit, and is an ideal starting point for hikes and bike tours in Kalkalpen National Park. In winter, the area around the Hengstpaß offers numerous opportunities for snowshoe hikes and ski tours. The Hengstpasshütte is bookable year-round!
